The best control feature of each ERP available on the market, concerning financial and accounting control, depends on the history of this ERP, its emergence, and its evolution. ERPs, in general (an acronym for Enterprise Resource Planning), were born, as is known, to integrate the various areas of a company, enabling the storage of all business information.

It was in 1975 that a German company launching its product (R/2) entered the ERP area’s history, which is still the largest in the sector. A little later, in the
1980s, new functionalities were added to these systems, called “modules,” which mainly covered the finance area, with accounts payable and receivable, sales, etc., and human resource management.

Some of these modules, however, ended up not being implemented in the short term. Hence, companies in the technology sector emerged to design and implement modules that did not exist in ERPs but connected directly to the management system. It was in the 90s that MHA emerged, a company founded by professionals with excellent knowledge in the area of technology and logistics, focused on developing a new type of system, classified as WMS (Warehouse Management System), a module that did not exist in ERPs on the market at the time.

Since then, MHA has been implementing systems and connecting to several ERPs on the market, such as an inventory module solution for ERPs such as SAP, Totvs line, IFS, Oracle Application, Jd’E, and Linx, among others. Most of the time, the modules added to the ERP, such as BI, WMS, TMS, and CRM systems, are systems that ERPs did not have in the past, which gave rise to the emergence of companies focused on different areas. This software has particularities and scope more significant than the ERP proposes today.

Implementing a specific module focused on the control area is feasible instead of using the ERP functionalities.
